Creating Classes

The first thing you will need to do is create a class. Click on the "Add Classes" link. This will take you to a page where you will have to enter the department code (CS, MA, etc.), course number, course title, term (03F for Fall 2003, etc.) and section. Once this is done, click the "Add" button and the course will be added.

Adding Students to Classes

Now that a class is created, you'll have to add students to the class. Click the "Add Students to Classes" link. On this page, the first drop-down box will contain all students. Choose the one to add. The second box shows all the classes you teach. Choose the class to add the student to and click the "Add" button. If the student isn't already in the class, they will be added.

Adding Questions

To add questions, click the "Add Questions" link. Here you will choose the class for the question, the unit number, whether it is multiple choice, the question itself, and how many points it's worth. When all of this is entered, click the "Add" button and the question will be added.

Adding Answers

To add answers, click the "Add Answers" link. This page will have a drop-down box containing the questions you have entered. Choose the question, then fill in the answer, whether it's correct or not, and how many points the answer is worth. As a general rule, set incorrect answers worth 1 point. When done, click the "Add" button.

Adding Quizzes

To add a quiz for students to take, click the "Add Quizzes" link. On this page, choose the class you want to add the quiz for and enter in the unit, whether it's available for students to take or not, and the number of questions. Click the "Add" button and the quiz will be created.

Editing Quizzes

To edit a quiz, click the "Edit Quizzes" link. On this page, choose the quiz you wish to edit and click the "Edit" button. Here you can change the unit number, the number of questions on the quiz, and whether it's available for students to take or not. When finished, click the "Edit" button and your input will be posted.

Grading Quizzes

To grade a quiz, click the "Grade Quizzes" link. Here, choose the class and the unit number to grade and hit the "Grade Quiz" button. The quizzes will be graded and the grades will then be stored.

Viewing Class Grades

To view grades for a class, click the "View Class Grades" link. Here, choose the class from the drop-down box and click the "Check" button. The class grades will be displayed, ordered by student name and unit number.

Editing Quiz Grades

To edit the number of points awarded for a question, click the "Edit Class Grades" button. From here, choose the quiz from the first box, the student from the second box, and the question number from the third. Click the "Edit" button. Here, you can change the points awarded and click the "Edit" button. The points will be changed and the grades will be updated.

You must do this after the grades have been run, and you cannot run grades on the quiz after this, or your results will be changed.
