Alaska

25 May—2 June 2021

With dirt-cheap airfare as people were still a little gun shy about traveling (Covid, sigh), Jack, Evan and I headed to Alaska!

Mt. Denali, on rare, clear day (from over 100 miles away!).

From the plane, approaching Anchorage: first, second, third, and finally, fourth (a warm welcome just before landing).

Wrangell St. Elias National Park: first, second, third, fourth, fifth (video).

Homer: boats, mountains, slough, edict, cloud.

Denali National Park, Savage River area: first, second (with Jack and Evan), third (with Jack and Evan).

The remarkable village of Seldovia: on the boat masked up, Russian Orthodox church, graveyard, Evan at the harbor, houses.

Kenai Fjords National Park: glacier, glacier with Jack and Evan, riverbed, riverbed with Jack and Evan, landscape.

From the breath-taking drive from Anchorage to Wrangell St. Elias: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh (self-portrait).

The quirky hamlet of Telkeetna.

Here is a video panorama of a superb lake on the drive from Anchorage to Seward.

Tern Lake, note Arctic Tern in middle right of photo.

Lake Clark National Park.

Beluga country, just south of Anchorage.

Not bad choices.

Luxury travel, by train, south of Anchorage.
