An idyllic, sun-kissed
setting on the Riviera, hard against the Western Alps, along the sea, alas, together
with eye-popping (sometimes nauseating and gaudy) displays of immense wealth,
quiet lanes, a roaring Formula One circuit—the Principality has to be seen to
be believed.
Iconic view of
Monaco above Port Hercule; here
is another; and here is another.
Money, piles and
piles of money.
Boats, actual (non yacht) boats!
Cathédrale
Notre-Dame-Immaculée de Monaco.
Monte Carlo
Casino, and a Ferrari and a McLaren.
Église de Sainte-Dévote; here is a shot from inside the church.
A lap around the Grand Prix circuit:
Looking back, downhill, to Beau Rivage.
Coming into the hairpin, from above.
Looking back, to Portier, before the tunnel.
Looking back, out of the tunnel entrance.
Out of the Nouvelle Chicane, toward Tabac.
Out of Taback, approaching the
Swimming Pool.
La Rascasse, my favorite turn on the circuit.
From above, toward the start finish line.
Cars:
Rolls Royce between two Ferraris.
