Countries I’ve visited
I began making
digital photographs in 2003, and then only sparingly. So obviously, I have no (or
in some cases, only film) photos of many of the places I’ve visited. For
example, Cathy and I spent the fall semester 1991 in Warsaw, Poland. It was an
exciting time (the USSR disintegrated that fall) in an endlessly fascinating
place. And we took lots of photos, all of them on film; alas none of them is
(yet) digitized. And I’ve visited many interesting places (e.g., Iceland,
Belgium, all over North America, etc.) with no camera at all.
So, mostly for my
own amusement (and also, since you can’t tell from looking at my photos), below
is a list of the countries
(nations,
autonomous
zones, breakaway
republics/limited recognition states, etc.) I’ve visited, arranged in
chronological order of my visiting them:

Finally, I’ve visited each U.S. state
(at least twice each), and I’ve visited over half of the U.S.’s counties (1,575
of 3,144, in fact); here is a map
of this madness.
