Final Project
In lieu of a final exam, you will complete a final project. Here are details of the project.
- Part I: 4-6 page paper (double-spaced)
- Part II: 10-15 minute computer presentation on your topic (CamScanner / LaTex / PowerPoint)
- You may talk to anyone about the paper but the writing must be your own.
- Deadline to submit topic & annotated bibliography: April 1
(A list of sources (at least two), with descriptions of why you're using them) - Deadline to submit final paper: May 1
- The final paper will be worth 100 points. Grading will be based as follows:
- 5 points : Submitted paper topic on time
- 5 points : Submitted annotated bibliogrphy on time
- 25 points: Paper exposition
- 25 points: Paper content
- 40 points: Presentation quality
You may propose your own project or choose one of the following.
- Any Project listed in Greenberg (after the Major Exercises)
- Constructions in software (Desmos / Sketchpad)
- Constructions on paper (present with CamScanner)
- Bezier Curves
- Curvature
- Geometry and Groups
- Friez Groups, Wallpaper Groups and Tessellations
- Projective Geometry
- Spherical Geometry
- Fractal Geometry
- Geometric Algorithms [for example]
- Differential Geometry
- Computational Geometry
- Non-Euclidean Art [for example]
