Connecting to Euclid

This assumes you have already done the intial setup.

To connect in Windows:

• Start "Cisco Anyconnect Secure Mobility Client"
• Enter your NMU username/password to connect
• Go to "This PC" (or "My Computer" on older versions of Windows) and open your network drive
• Put in your username and password if it asks (the password I gave you, not your NMU password)

To connect in OS X:

• Run AnyConnect. You can do this by clicking the Launchpad (usually a multicolor chip or a rocket near the left end of the Dock), and typing AnyConnect in the search field. Once you run it, you may need to enter in nmuvpn5520.nmu.edu for the server address.
• Either:
  • Go to the Finder (usually a blue and white smile at the lower left), find the "go" menu at the top of the whole screen (not for that particular window), and select "connect to server"
  • ...OR just hold down ⌘ and press k. This keyboard shortcut does the same thing.
• In the address box, type in smb://euclid.nmu.edu/usernameCS101 and click connect (where username is your username), then log in. Check the username - the default might not be correct, and use the password I gave you, not your NMU password.

Once you are connected, go to VS Code, select "open folder" (on the file menu) and select the network drive on the left side (on a Mac, you may need to select yourUsernameCS101). If it asks, trust the author of the folder.

The lecture notes are in the notes folder and will be updated periodically (you won't be able to modify that stuff). Whenever you start a new project, make a new folder for it by right-clicking in the panel on the left and selecting "new folder". All the files for that project should go inside there to keep things organized.
