Tips for Sysadmins

1. It's almost impossible to catch hackers, and probably not worth the trouble.
2. Always do every security related upgrade.
3. When the police come visit, don't panic at first.
4. Lawyers threaten, but don't often sue.
5. When in doubt, reinstall the whole system.
6. Users will ignore your commands and scoff at dire threats.
7. Packet filters are good.
8. Be calm.
