Problem definition:
-------------------
We want to address loneliness on NMU's campus among students. Students want connectedness - but they don't know how. Commuter students have unique problems with connecting as well.
Note: Loneliness isn't necessarily paired with social anxiety (that is a different issue that we are not focused on here).
[Original vision - something similar to Bumble BFF]
Top ideas:
----------
* Ask Wildcat Willy to pair up with a random friend based on preferences.
* Orientation or MyNMU: have a background and interests checklist. Notify relevant student organizations, and they can reach out to the students. Be especially sure to include transfer and commuter students, as current orientation is lacking for commuters.
* Get talking with the people who are needing this the most.
* Find a way of getting more informal events known and out there (bike trip / hiking / etc.) - built-in ways of managing large numbers showing up (also, legal issues?)
Other ideas:
------------
* Get marketing students involved
* More intimiate version of "the Hub" - some way of filtering down (interest / background / active / room / quiet / etc.)
* Community events connection
* Assessment of personality / interests - personalizing existing resources
* Addressing barriers: "Someone to go with", parking
* Upperclassman pairing / student-mentor
* Tile in MyNMU - social connections / activities
* Get a pamphlet at orientation
* Getting student organizations what they need to function well (such as getting rooms and space for events)
* Chat rooms / maybe specific by group/interest
* Emphasizing that there are other people with your interests that you can connect with
