Our project was a shoe that generates electricity when you walk. So the main idea here, is you put a technology covered fake cardboard insole into your shoe, and put your real insole over that, so when you walk you generate power! So how it works, is you solder togeter a ton of piezoelectric elements together, and you glue them onto a cardboard insole. You then connect those to a diode dquare so that the power is going out of the piezos instead of in. Then, you solder the piezos to a USB port, and voila! Well then yu have to connect it to something to charge it obviously but other than that it's done! Just put it into your shoe, then put your real insole over that and start walking. It's a little uncomfortable, but you can't really feel it that much. I guess you could say that the secret is within the piezoelectric elements. Those are what generate the power.
